Hurry Up Wait is a 5-member band with up to 2 techs and full production (sound, lights, and visuals) based in Appleton, Wisconsin. We specialize in high-energy, fun wedding receptions with MC services and a turnkey setup, so you don’t have to worry about the music.

Wedding Package Options

Package 1
Reception Party

For couples who want an epic dance floor and a killer party.

  • Up to 4 hours of reception coverage.
  • 3–4 live band sets (approximately 45–50 minutes each).
  • DJ-style music during band breaks (no dead air).
  • Professional sound system and basic dance lighting.
  • Use of microphone(s) for toasts and announcements.
  • MC services for grand entrance, first dance, formalities, and last song.
  • We learn 1 special song for you (e.g., first dance or a must-have).
  • No travel fee within 30 driving miles of Appleton, WI.

Package 2
Ceremony + Cocktail + Reception

One team handling your entire day’s music and sound.

  • Everything included in the Reception Party package, plus:
  • Ceremony sound support (up to 1 hour on-site): small PA, mic for officiant/reader, and pre-ceremony background music.
  • Processional and recessional music (curated playlist).
  • Cocktail hour music from a curated playlist.

Package 3
All-Day Experience

Full show, full production, all the bells and whistles.

  • Everything included in the Ceremony + Cocktail + Reception package, plus:
  • Use of our large TV wall for slideshows, logos, or custom visuals during cocktail hour and dinner.
  • Custom playlists for pre-ceremony, dinner, and after-band DJ music to close the night.
  • We learn up to 3 custom songs (first dance, parent dances, and one additional special song) – conditional, based on time frame.

Travel & Mileage

  • We perform weddings up to approximately 100 miles from Appleton, Wisconsin.
  • Travel is included at no additional charge for venues within 30 driving miles of Appleton.
  • For venues beyond 30 miles (up to 100 miles away), we charge $1.50 per mile round trip to cover transportation for our band, techs, and production gear.
  • For events ending after 11:00 p.m. or more than 75 miles from Appleton, overnight accommodation for the band and crew will be required. We’ll discuss this up-front during booking.

Add-Ons & Options

  • Extra hour of reception (live band or DJ-style music): $350 per hour.
  • Additional sound system in a separate space (e.g., separate ceremony or cocktail area): $400.
  • Early setup or extended idle time (for example, we must be fully set up 3+ hours before start time): $150–$250 depending on schedule.

Booking, Payment & Song Requests

  • A 50% non-refundable retainer and signed agreement are required to secure your date.
  • The remaining balance is due 15 days before the wedding.
  • Additional overtime or add-ons requested on the day of the event must be paid for before additional service is provided. We accept cash and Venmo.
  • Each package includes learning special songs as listed (1–3 depending on package).
  • You’re welcome to provide a must-play list and a do-not-play list so we can tailor the night to your taste.
  • We’re happy to take live requests when they fit our set list.
